Objectives - After Attending This Program You Should Be Able To

1.     Identify how CBT defines anxiety compared to other related emotional experiences.

2.     Describe  the cognitive, behavioral and emotional symptoms of anxiety.

3.     Identify key characteristics of anxiety disorders, such as Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic disorder, agoraphobia, and specific phobia.

4.     Describe how to conceptualize various anxiety disorders according to cognitive and behavioral models.

5.     Identify techniques to elicit and evaluate maladaptive cognitions, emotions and behaviors for anxiety disorders.

6.     Recognize the most common cognitive distortions in the various anxiety disorders.

7.     Identify key characteristics of several CBT strategies for clients with anxiety.

8.     Distinguish the three main types of exposure and determine which type would be most useful for the client.
