Objectives - After Attending This Program You Should Be Able To
1. Identify and describe the cognitive, emotional and behavioral symptoms of depression.
2.Describe assessment techniques to diagnose depression.
3.Recall the biopsychosocial model and utilize it to develop a CBT formulation of depression.
4.Describe maladaptive cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes in depression.
5.Describe practical CBT techniques and strategies to alter maladaptive processes and reduce depressive symptoms.
6.Explain underlying issues of long-term maladaptive patterns contributing to depression and utilize CBT techniques to address these issues.
7.Recognize risk assessment and safety planning when working with depressed clients who also experience suicidality.
