If you create a search using the prospecting tool, but it isn't quite the results you're looking for there are a few things you can do to improve your search.
Are you targeting the right role for your prospects?
One way to target prospects is to identify the decision-maker's role within an organization. For example if you're a marketing agency for smaller companies the decision-maker might be the owner or CEO, but for larger organizations you might be targeting a marketing manager.
When you use the prospecting tool in LeadFuze you have the option to select a Role/Function. When you a select a role, LeadFuze creates a search query that includes multiple variations of titles for that role. For example, the Owner role creates this search string:
("Owner" OR "Founder" OR "CEO" OR "Chief Executive Officer" OR "Founder & CEO" OR "Partner") -assistant -intern -secretary
Once you become familiar with the different title variations created with Role/Function filter, you can:
Add, delete, or exclude role/title keywords in your search query and create even more targeted lists.
Leave the Role/Function filter blank and add role/title information as a keyword search.
Are you searching the right industry?
One way to improve your search results is to experiment with different industry categories. If you're still not finding results, you can also:
Create a search leaving the industry blank and instead add industry details as keywords.
Search by 2 or 3 industry categories at a time to widen your results.
Revise your industry tags based on the industry relevant prospects self-identify with on LinkedIn.
Are you using Boolean search to create advanced keyword searches?
Another way to create advanced prospect searches is to use Boolean search operators in the prospecting tool's keyword search. Using a Boolean search you can search for a specific combination of keywords and even exclude keywords from your search.
