There are three main sections to keyword options. Each is outlined below.
Step 1: Choose Your Country Specific Phone Numbers
The shortcode used by your keyword - either 444999 or 345345 - is only available within the US. If someone using a phone carrier not based in the US texts your keyword, they will get no response.
To enable international support, you'll need to add a country specific number to your keyword. This section allows you to find, select and add an international number so that your keyword can work as intended within that country. Currently, Textiful only supports Canadian numbers add on numbers.
Step 2: What information do you want to capture from users?
This section allows you to define what type of information (if any) you will be collecting from users. There are slight variations between the 345345 and the 444999 interfaces, which are outlined below.
345345 Shortcode Keywords
The 345345 shortcode is the recommended shortcode for collecting email addresses, It's also best if you are looking to collect cell phone numbers, birthdate, city, state, zip code, or country information. If you need to collect other information from your users (like First / Last Name) then you should use the 444999 shortcode.
345345 keywords will automatically capture the City, State, Zip Code and Country behind the scenes from the phone carrier when the user texts your keyword. In addition, you can have 345345 keywords capture email addresses and birthdates (for age verification purposes) directly from the user.
This section allows you to turn on / off the collecting of email addresses and/or birthdates.You can customize what types of data you will be collecting from your users and the associated messages by clicking the "Collect Emails" or "Age Verification" tab on the left hand navigation. 444999 Shortcode Keywords
The interface for the 444999 keywords differs slightly. Since there data collection options are more flexible, there is only a single option of whether or not you would like to collect information from you users.
You can customize what types of data you will be collecting from your users and the associated messages by clicking the "Data Requests" tab on the left hand navigation. More information is available in the Customizing Keyword Messages article.
Step 3: After a user opts-in, what should happen?
This section allows to you to turn on/off different actions that you want to occur after the user has provided all of their information and completed enrollment. Once enabled, you can further customize each option by selecting the correlating tab within the left hand side navigation.
Sync collected email addresses to my email list
This is where you enable collected emails to be automatically synced to the email marketing platform(s) of your choice. Detailed instructions for each platform is available within the Integrations Section of Textiful Help.
Capture Social Media data based upon the collected email address
This option enables Textiful to use the collected email address to potentially capture more information about the user behind the scenes from their public Social Media profiles. More information about this feature is available in the Capture Social Media Data Article.
Send the user an Auto-Response Email
Setup a simple auto-response email that will be sent to each user as soon as they are finished enrolling in your keyword. More information is available in the Send Auto-Response Emails Article.
Send me a Notification Email about each opt-in
Receive a notification email after each new signup along with all of the information that was captured from the user.
